Tuesday (3/23)  Pilates Room
          1st Class (Family)                               6:50 – 7:50pm     unchanged
          2nd Class (Adult)                                 7:40 – 9:00pm     unchanged
 
 
 
Wednesday (3/24)   Pilates Room
          1st Class (6-9) + 2nd Class (10+)       3:50 – 4:50pm     combined
 
 
 
Thursday (3/25)   Pilates Room
          1st Class (Family) + 2nd Class (Adult) 7:50 – 9:00pm     combined
 
 
 
 
Notes:
-         Changes are for this next week only. Wood floors are being resurfaced and everything is being shifted to accommodate fewer rooms.
 
-         All classes held in the downstairs Pilates room.
 
-         Monday / Wednesday class, especially Wednesday, will likely be over-packed! I’ll have that worked out. We’ll make use of the hall, or outside with weather permitting.
 
-         Tuesday night is no change, except both classes in the downstairs Pilates room.
 
-         Thursday night class will be late for some of the youngsters. Parents, let them stay as late as you feel comfortable and leave when you need to.

Some good stuff.  Because of our exceptionally hard work, some of the pictures are blurry.  And because I shrunk the files so they would load faster (and take up less space on the server.)

I hope everyone has a nice, relaxing weekend.  No class on Monday; everything resumes Tuesday, May 26th.

I'll let you know how the beach is when I get back, if I decide to come home.

What does the "(T)" in OMMA Calendar mean?

Good morning, everyone.

You may notice in the "OMMA Calendar" that some entries labeled OMMA GUP TEST (T) have the (T) tacked on the end.

The (T) indicates the date is tentative.  As time gets closer and the date is set I'll remove the (T).  You'll also find this in the Calendar column in the eNewsletters.

OMMA Testing and Training Day

When:      Saturday, March 14th, 2009

               1:30 – 4:30 pm
What:      Gup Rank Test + Training
Who:       All OMMA Students
  • Testers will receive testing invitation packets
  • Non-testers will also participate in training and sparring
Where:     YMCA Greystone, upstairs aerobics room
What Else:
               Restaurant, Top China Buffet, 6:30 pm (See below)
 
Parents, see what your child has learned, and where they are headed with Tang Soo Do. All family and friends, spectators are welcomed. The testing and training will begin promptly at 1:30 pm.

 

The afternoon will include:

  • Outstanding Testing Trophy – all testers eligible

  • Ribbon-Pulling Game – young White and Orange Belts (all ages love this game!)

  • Slow Free Sparring – older White and Orange Belts

  • Point Free Sparring – higher ranks

  • Black Belt Exhibitions throughout the afternoon

Gup Test Invitation Packets

Testing Packets for Gup ranks (colored belts) will be distributed starting Thursday, 2/26/2009, and are due back to your instructor by Tuesday, 3/10/2009.
 
Testing date is Saturday, 3/14/2009, 1:30 – 4:30 pm. (See OMMA Testing and Training Day here.)

OMMA's new website now online

It's finally here. I've been working on this for about six months. Choosing software, experimenting, trying to get a list of must-have features to work.

My web server on an old pc (about 15 years old) has hung in there, thought I might burn it up trying to run web and database servers on it. I spent more frustrating time waiting for it to finish something than I did actually experimenting.

Anyway, when I'm finished setting this up over the next several weeks/months it should be a lot of fun for all of us to use. And a good information resource to complement in-class training.

New features will be announced in the eNewsletter along the way.
